The Center for Work Education and Employment (CWEE), founded in 1982, is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides holistic workforce development and family-stabilization services for low-income, career-seeking parents. CWEE combines case management, trauma-informed wellness supports, digital skills training, GED preparation, and employer-focused job-placement services to help parents obtain and retain quality employment.
CWEE’s model centers on three integrated program elements—Foundational supports, Wellness, and Employment & Education—so participants receive both the stabilization resources and the career training necessary for long-term success. In recent years CWEE has emphasized digital skills and social-emotional learning alongside traditional employment services to meet evolving labor-market demands.

Since opening in 1982 CWEE has supported more than 18,000 parents and families through workforce development and stabilization services.
Recent FY24 program outcomes
In FY24 CWEE served 1,079 low-income families, provided job-readiness training to 665 participants, awarded 353 Digital Skills certificates, and helped 170 career seekers obtain employment.
Sustained employer and county partnerships
Ongoing collaborations with local employers and county human services to create hiring pathways, internships, and coordinated supports that improve placement and retention rates.
