About STEP DENVER

Step Denver is an all-men, residential recovery program based in Denver, Colorado, that helps adults experiencing addiction and homelessness move toward stable, sober, independent living. The program uses a four-pillar model—Sobriety, Work, Accountability, and Community—delivered through peer recovery support, life-skills classes, job placement, and structured phases of recovery. Step has operated for decades and in recent years has expanded its model to replicate services in new communities. The organization emphasizes measurable employment outcomes and long-term stability for program graduates while maintaining a primarily philanthropic funding model.

Notable achievements

High early employment rate

Seventy-four percent of residents obtain employment within the program’s first 45 days, enabling rapid progress toward financial independence and program fee contribution.

Replication and new campus (Step Springs)

Step expanded its model to Colorado Springs with the Step Springs replication project, establishing a 50-bed residential facility to serve more men and scale the Step program beyond Denver.

Strong one-year graduate outcomes

A recent graduate survey reported high one-year outcomes for alumni, including strong rates of sustained sobriety, employment, and stable housing among those who complete the program.
