About Denver Posse of Westerners, Inc
The Denver Posse of Westerners is a volunteer historical society founded in 1945 that promotes study and public appreciation of Western American history through meetings, publications, and archival projects.
The Posse publishes a regular journal (Roundup), runs a book-review program, hosts monthly speaker meetings and an annual rendezvous, and has undertaken a multi-year project to digitize its Brand Books and Roundup archive for research and educational use.
Notable achievements
Continuous Operation Since 1945
Established in 1945, the Posse has met regularly and published the Roundup and Brand Books for decades, sustaining a long-running forum for Western history.
Archive Digitization Project
Completed a multi-year effort to scan and make searchable many years of Brand Books and Roundup issues, expanding access for researchers and educators.
Active Publication Program
Maintains an ongoing publication and book-review program that connects university presses, authors, and readers with contemporary Western history scholarship.
