About VOLUNTEERS FOR OUTDOOR COLORADO INC

Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado (VOC) is a Denver-based, statewide nonprofit that organizes hands-on conservation projects, trainings, and youth programs to preserve and improve Colorado’s trails, parks, and natural areas. VOC runs a season of public and group volunteer projects (trail building & maintenance, ecological restoration, invasive species removal, native planting, community garden work, and chainsaw/crosscut certified crews) and operates the Outdoor Stewardship Institute (OSI) training program to build stewardship capacity across the state. In the last 2–3 years VOC has maintained an active project and training calendar, published annual impact reporting (including a 2025 Impact Report), and continued youth engagement through its Cairn youth mentorship program and the Grossman Scholarship for students pursuing environmental study. VOC emphasizes partnership with land managers (local, state, and federal) and trained volunteer leadership to scale stewardship work across Colorado.

VOC has engaged well over 100,000 volunteers across its history and reports tens of thousands of volunteer hours in recent seasons (for example, volunteers contributed roughly 27,000 hours in the most recent project season).
