CHRISTIAN HANDS IN ACTION INC

Christian Hands in Action (CHIA) is a U.S.-based, faith-driven nonprofit founded in 1981 that organizes short-term medical and clean-water mission trips across Central and South America and Africa. The organization pairs volunteer medical professionals, discipleship teams, and distributed water-filtration programs to deliver basic healthcare, clean water, meals, training, and evangelism to underserved communities.

CHIA maintains an active public presence (official website and mission-trip schedule) and continued program operations through 2023–2025. Public filings through fiscal year 2022 report annual revenue in the low hundreds of thousands of dollars, and CHIA publishes impact metrics since 2019 (including thousands of water filters distributed and medical patients served). The organization also completed a leadership transition in 2023 when long-time founder leadership changed and publicly noted the passing of founder Dr. John “Doc” Sherman in 2024; operational leadership and mission activity have continued under the current executive team.
