About COLORADO POLICE & FIRE ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION
The Colorado Police & Fire Athletic Association (CPFAA) is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization that has hosted annual multi-sport, “Olympic-style” games for police, firefighters, public safety, and emergency medical personnel since 1986. Each year a different Colorado agency hosts the state games, which combine athletic competition, professional networking, and fundraising for first-responder–related charities.
In recent years the CPFAA has continued its core program of statewide games and event coordination (including athlete registration, event standings, and sponsor drives). The organization maintains a model of covering event costs first and then presenting a donation—drawn from any year-end profits—to the host agency’s charity(s) of choice.
