About Westminster Area Museum and Historical Society

Founded in the early 1960s as an all‑volunteer local historical society, the organization collects artifacts, records and oral histories and interprets them through museum exhibits, outreach programs and school partnerships.

The Society operates the Bowles House Museum and the Westminster History Center (a research/archive space), provides classroom and public programming, and maintains an expanding online/digital presence for its collections.

The group works with local partners (schools, the City of Westminster and the public library) to offer education, digitization and preservation services and to support historic preservation efforts across the city.
