About BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU SERVING NORTHERN COLORADO AND WYOMING FOUNDATION
The Better Business Bureau Serving Northern Colorado and Wyoming Foundation is the 501(c)(3) education foundation affiliated with the local BBB. It advances marketplace trust by delivering ethics-based programs, charity accountability services, and public education for consumers, businesses and nonprofits.
The Foundation runs recurring recognition programs and training (including the Torch Awards for Ethics and Spark Award for Entrepreneurship), operates the local charity accreditation/review program, and partners with regional educational institutions to strengthen nonprofit governance and marketplace ethics.
In the last 2–3 years the Foundation has continued active outreach across its service area, including a 2024 partnership with the University of Wyoming to support nonprofit accreditation and the Foundation’s ongoing annual ethics awards and accreditation work in 2024–2025.
Notable achievements
Local charity accreditation program
Established and expanded a BBB charity accreditation/review program in the region; the program has accredited a large number of local nonprofits and continues to be a recognized standard for charity accountability.
Ongoing Torch Awards for Ethics
Operates a long-running annual ethics awards program that recognizes outstanding ethical performance among businesses and nonprofits across Northern Colorado and Wyoming (continuing into 2024–2025).
Higher-education partnership for accreditation
Partnered with the University of Wyoming in 2024 to involve students and faculty in helping local nonprofits navigate BBB charity accountability standards and accreditation processes.
