CHANGE HAPPENS CDC

Change Happens Community Development Corporation (Change Happens CDC) is a Houston-based nonprofit community development corporation focused on affordable housing, senior living, neighborhood revitalization, and resident-centered support. The organization was founded by Rev. Leslie Smith II and has a long history of purchasing and rehabilitating dilapidated properties in Houston’s Third Ward and surrounding neighborhoods. In recent years Change Happens CDC has completed new construction and preservation projects, partnered with national and municipal housing partners, and operated as a certified CHDO to deliver affordable single-family and multifamily units targeted to low- and moderate-income households. The organization combines property development and management with resident services and neighborhood-focused programming to stabilize communities and expand housing access.
