About Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc.

Boys and Girls Country of Houston, Inc. (BGC) is a privately funded, licensed residential children’s home founded in 1971 and located near Hockley, Texas. The organization provides 24-hour, cottage-based care for children ages 5–18 and operates a College & Career program that supports young adults after high school while they pursue education, training, military service, or employment. BGC uses trauma-informed care and a live-in houseparent model on a campus of more than 200 acres where children live in family-style cottages, attend public schools, and receive educational and counseling supports. In recent years BGC has expanded services with a pilot Single Mothers: Rooted in Grace program that houses and supports single mothers and their children while families work toward education, employment, and stability.
