The Country Playhouse Inc. is a long-established Houston 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre organization that operates publicly as Queensbury Theatre. Founded in 1956, the organization produces professional main-stage seasons and operates an active performing-arts education wing (the Tribble School for the Performing Arts). Queensbury Theatre runs both a 250-seat proscenium main stage and a smaller black-box space and continues year-round programming and youth education. In recent seasons (2023–2025) the company has presented mainstage productions while maintaining its Tribble School classes and seasonal camps; the Tribble School serves several hundred students per semester and provides scholarships and outreach programming to the community.

State-of-the-art facility and rebrand

In 2015 the company moved into a rebuilt, modern facility with a 250-seat main stage and a 100-seat black-box theatre and adopted the Queensbury Theatre identity to reflect its expanded professional and educational mission.
