About Texas Society to Prevent Blindness, Inc. (d/b/a Prevent Blindness Texas)

Prevent Blindness Texas is the state affiliate of the national Prevent Blindness network, operating across Texas to deliver vision screening, education, navigation to care, and financial support for exams and eyeglasses. The organization focuses on populations at higher risk for vision problems — children, older adults, people with low incomes, and other underserved groups.

Prevent Blindness Texas runs certified children’s vision screening and training programs, community health fairs, educator courses (diabetic eye disease and glaucoma), and eyeglass/financial assistance initiatives. In recent years the affiliate has expanded partnerships with health systems, universities, foundations and local community organizations to scale screening, referral and treatment services statewide.
