About Boy Scouts of America — Circle Ten Council

Circle Ten Council (Boy Scouts of America, Council #571) is a long-established local council based in Dallas, Texas that delivers Scouting programs across North Texas and parts of southern Oklahoma. The council operates year-round youth programming (Cub Scouts, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts and outreach programs), maintains multiple council camps, and supports unit leaders and volunteers through training and resources.

In recent years Circle Ten has continued in-person program delivery and expanded outreach work (including ScoutReach and summer access programs) following the pandemic, while conducting major fundraising and development activity to support scholarships, camps, and outreach. The council reports tens of thousands of youth participants annually and maintains audited financial reporting and public Form 990 filings.

Notable achievements

Large scale youth impact

Circle Ten serves tens of thousands of young people each year (reported estimates in the low-to-mid 30,000s) across its North Texas and southeast Oklahoma territory, making it one of the largest local councils in the region.

Extensive camping program

The council operates multiple major scout camps (including Camp Wisdom, Camp James Ray / James Ray Scout Reservation, Camp Constantin and Clements Scout Ranch / Trevor Rees-Jones) that host thousands of Scouts each summer and year-round programs that form a core part of its outdoor education and leadership training.

Targeted outreach funding

Circle Ten has successfully raised significant community support for its ScoutReach and outreach activities (including multi-hundred-thousand-dollar fundraising events) to expand access for underserved youth and provide camp scholarships and program subsidies.
