About COMMUNITY COUNCIL OF GREATER DALLAS
Community Council of Greater Dallas (CCGD) is a long-established Dallas-based nonprofit (incorporated 1943) that convenes partners and delivers direct services to strengthen families, support older adults, and connect people to essential community resources.
CCGD operates the Dallas Area Agency on Aging, manages the 2-1-1 helpline for North Texas, and runs targeted programs (SNAP Navigator, Alzheimer’s & Dementia support, cancer care navigation and economic mobility initiatives) to reduce poverty and improve stability for residents across Dallas County and parts of North Texas.
The organization combines direct-service programming with system-level coordination and partnership development to move people from immediate crisis toward long-term independence and wellbeing.

Wide-reaching 2-1-1 Helpline
CCGD’s 2-1-1 helpline operates 24/7 and—according to the organization’s recent impact reporting—connected over 150,000 individuals to services in 2025, acting as a primary entry point for food, housing, health, and emergency assistance across North Texas.
Dallas Area Agency on Aging impact
As the local Area Agency on Aging, CCGD delivers nutrition and caregiver support at scale: in 2025 the organization reported funding over 500,000 meals for older adults and completing hundreds of home-safety repairs to help seniors remain independent.
State SNAP Outreach expansion
CCGD is a recipient of a Texas Health and Human Services Commission SNAP Outreach and Application Assistance grant; through the SNAP Navigator program it partners with 10 subrecipients to serve 56 counties and expects to connect 1,000+ households to SNAP benefits through outreach and one-on-one application assistance.
