About WOMENS CENTER OF TARRANT COUNTY INC

The Women’s Center of Tarrant County is a Fort Worth-based, donor-facing nonprofit that provides comprehensive services for survivors of sexual assault and other violent crimes, as well as counseling, violence-prevention education, and employment supports. Programs include a 24-hour sexual-assault crisis hotline, hospital-based forensic rape-exam advocacy, individual and group therapy, legal assistance, and the Play it Safe!® prevention curriculum for children. The Center operates countywide and delivers both direct services (hotline response, hospital advocacy, counseling) and community programs (school-based prevention, employment solutions, PEARLS for older adults). It maintains recent independent audited financial statements and program outcome reporting showing measurable client outcomes across counseling, employment, prevention, and legal services.

Notable achievements

Comprehensive 24/7 Rape Crisis & Hospital Advocacy

Operates a 24-hour sexual assault crisis hotline and provides on-call advocacy to hospitals across Tarrant County (full-time hospital advocates at JPS and on-call coverage to multiple local hospitals); in the 2025 program year the Rape Crisis team reported 1,775 hotline callers and 1,843 survivors counseled at rape exam sites.

Measurable Employment Outcomes

Employment Solutions reports strong outcomes: 73% of clients secured employment at an average wage of $21.72/hour, and those clients maintained employment at one-year follow-up (100% retention), demonstrating the program’s effectiveness in promoting financial stability.

Prevention & Clinical Impact

Play it Safe!® and clinical programs show measurable results: 88% of children tested after Play it Safe!® demonstrated increased knowledge and protective skills (with trainer-facilitated disclosures), and counseling outcomes report 90% of therapy clients achieving at least 75% of their recovery goals.
