HELPING RESTORE ABILITY
Our mission is to advance independence for Texans at home and in their communities by connecting them to the care, resources, and support they need to thrive.
About HELPING RESTORE ABILITY
Helping Restore Ability (HRA) is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has provided in-home caregiving and consumer-directed support services since 1977. The organization connects Texans with disabilities, children on waiver programs, and veterans to trained attendants and care coordination so individuals can remain independent in their homes and communities. HRA operates statewide consumer-directed services and agency-directed personal attendant programs, participates in Medicaid-managed-care programs (including STAR Kids and STAR+PLUS), and conducts caregiver recruitment, training, and retention initiatives. The agency also runs fundraising and community engagement efforts (annual HuRrAh! events and local giving campaigns) and has recently secured local foundation support to expand veteran in-home services.
