About FAMILY PLACE INC
The Family Place (Family Place Inc) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1978 that provides emergency shelter, counseling, legal services, supervised visitation, children’s education and transitional housing for survivors of family and domestic violence. Services are available in English and Spanish and include a 24-hour crisis hotline, on-site medical and dental clinics, and onsite legal advocacy in partnership with Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas. The organization operates multiple shelter facilities (Sally’s House, Ann Moody Place and a Men’s Shelter) and community counseling centers across North Texas, serving survivors and their children with trauma-informed case management, education, job-readiness and batterer intervention programs. The Family Place also runs supervised child visitation and community prevention programs that reach area schools and families. In recent years The Family Place has reported large-scale service delivery and measurable outcomes—operating shelter and transitional housing, providing thousands of crisis and counseling contacts annually, and reporting strong client-reported safety and resource-knowledge outcomes.

Longstanding emergency shelter capacity
Operates three shelter facilities (Sally’s House, Ann Moody Place and a Men’s Shelter) providing a combined capacity of 168 beds and staffed 24/7 to offer immediate safety, food, clothing, medical care and case management.
High-volume service delivery (2023–2024)
In 2024 the organization reported serving over 40,000 unduplicated individuals, delivering 42,140 nights of emergency shelter, answering more than 9,300 crisis calls and providing thousands of hours of counseling, case management and medical clinic visits.
Comprehensive children’s services
Maintains an on-site Safe Campus with a child development center, after-school and summer programs and supervised visitation services that reached thousands of children and youth through direct education and trauma-informed care.
