About Lumin Education

Lumin Education is a Dallas-based nonprofit that delivers Montessori-based early childhood and elementary programs plus pregnancy-to-age-3 home visiting. Founded in 1978, the organization operates community campuses and home-visiting services (its “B4Six” work) that serve several hundred children and families annually.

In the last 2–3 years Lumin has expanded and strengthened its home-visiting and early classroom programs, won external recognition for its home‑visiting model (2024 Losos Prize for Excellence), helped coordinate statewide Montessori advocacy (leading to TEAM in 2023), and secured substantial operating support from local funders including United Way partners in 2025–2026. Leadership transitioned to Dionne Kirby as Executive Director in a recent leadership announcement, underlining continued strategic focus on scaling early childhood impact and family engagement.
