About AUSTIN STREET CENTER

Austin Street Center is a long-established, donor-facing nonprofit in Dallas that operates one of the city's largest low-barrier emergency shelters and an expanded day-service center. The organization offers emergency housing plus housing-focused case management, medical respite, mental health and substance-use services, employment supports, benefits navigation, and diversion services to move people into permanent housing. In June 2022 Austin Street opened a new, 60,000-square-foot Center for Community Engagement that expanded 24/7 shelter and day services. In recent years Austin Street has reported measurable outcomes (for example, FY2025: 2,731 clients served and 640 clients housed) and sustained large volunteer engagement and philanthropic support to deliver shelter and housing placements.
