About MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION OF NORTH TEXAS

Make‑A‑Wish Foundation of North Texas is the regional chapter of Make‑A‑Wish serving Dallas, Fort Worth and a broad multi‑county area across North, West and East Texas. The chapter’s work is focused on designing and granting wishes for children facing critical illnesses to deliver hope, joy and measurable improvements in wellbeing. Since its founding in 1983 the chapter has been donor‑facing, operating an active volunteer and staff network that manages referrals, medical clearances, wish design and fulfillment across its service area. It publishes audited financial statements and operates as a 501(c)(3) public charity with an emphasis on transparency, fundraising events, corporate partnerships and volunteer engagement.

Notable achievements

Wishes granted (FY2024)

During the fiscal year ended August 31, 2024 the chapter granted 624 wishes; at that date approximately 1,110 eligible wish children were on the chapter’s roster. The audited statements report an average total cost per wish of $11,777 (cash plus in‑kind) for FY2024.

Long‑term regional impact

Since its founding the chapter has granted more than 14,000 wishes to children across its North Texas service area, delivering sustained mission impact through volunteer networks, corporate partnerships and community fundraising programs.

New purpose‑built headquarters

In 2025 the chapter opened a newly designed headquarters intended to be a welcoming, child‑friendly space to meet families, design wishes and host programming that supports wish kids and their caregivers.
