INTERFAITH FAMILY SERVICES
Interfaith Family Services empowers families in crisis to break the cycle of poverty by providing transitional housing, childcare, career and financial coaching, and wraparound support services.
About INTERFAITH FAMILY SERVICES
Interfaith Family Services is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) that provides transitional housing, rent and utility assistance, job training and placement, licensed on-site childcare, afterschool and summer youth programs, and intensive case management to families facing poverty and homelessness. Since 2019 the organization has expanded its campus into a Family Empowerment Center and the Moody Family Childcare & Youth Services Center, significantly increasing service capacity; in FY2023 Interfaith reported serving hundreds of adults and children and has since positioned the organization to serve several hundred families annually. Program outcomes reported in recent annual materials show strong measurable results — a high percentage of clients exiting to employment and permanent housing and notable academic gains for children — and the agency partners with funders and local government (including United Way and Dallas County ARPA funding) to scale services and rent-assistance resources.
Notable achievements
Family Empowerment Center expansion
Completed and opened an expanded Family Empowerment Center and adjacent three-story Moody Family Childcare & Youth Services Center, which more than tripled the organization’s capacity since 2019 and increased annual reach from roughly 100 families to the hundreds of families the agency now serves.
Strong client outcomes
Recent program reporting documents high-impact outcomes for participating families: the majority of clients exit with employment (with reported average hourly wages around program figures), a large share secure permanent housing after participation, and most children show measurable academic improvement in reading and math.
Secured public funding for rent assistance
Awarded targeted public support to expand household assistance and the Family Empowerment Program (including county ARPA funding), enabling scaled rent/utility aid and case-management services to prevent evictions and stabilize dozens to hundreds of families annually.
