About DALLAS WIND SYMPHONY

The Dallas Wind Symphony (also known publicly as Dallas Winds) is a professional concert band based in Dallas, Texas, founded in 1985. The organization performs a full subscription season at major local venues, produces recordings, and runs education initiatives that serve youth and community musicians across North Texas. In recent years the Dallas Winds has resumed regular live programming and media broadcasts, expanded its education offerings (including a Windband Festival, Band Camp, and scholarship programs), and refreshed leadership with an Executive Director appointment in March 2024. The ensemble maintains an active recording program and commissions new works while presenting community-facing events and radio broadcasts to broaden access to wind-band repertoire. The organization positions itself as a national leader among professional civilian wind bands, combining a long discography and notable recordings with ongoing local partnerships and outreach to sustain music education and audience development in the Dallas area.
