The mission of the Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) is to advance the science and application of behavior analysis to improve the world in which we live by disseminating knowledge from the science and providing resources to the behavior analytic community and the public in Texas in an ethical and high-quality manner.
About TEXAS ASSOCIATION FOR BEHAVIOR ANALYSIS INC
The Texas Association for Behavior Analysis (TxABA) is an active, member-focused 501(c)(3) organization that supports behavior analysts in Texas through professional development, conferences, scholarships, and community resources. Since 1986 TxABA has hosted an annual scientific conference that brings together researchers, practitioners, and students across multiple practice and research tracks. In the last 2–3 years TxABA has continued regular programming including annual conferences (most recently the 41st Annual Conference in April 2026), a speaker series, BACB-approved continuing education offerings (55+ CEUs available for the 2026 conference), student scholarships and poster competitions, and updated governance and committee charters to support diversity and student engagement. TxABA also maintains formal affiliations with national behavior-analytic organizations and runs a separate public policy group (501(c)(6)) to coordinate licensure and legislative initiatives in Texas.
Notable achievements
Longstanding annual scientific conference
Operates a sustained annual conference (founded 1986) that in 2026 ran multi-track programming with in-person and live-stream options and offered more than 55 BACB continuing-education units to attendees.
Student scholarship and development programs
Provides multiple student supports including the James L. Kopp Memorial Scholarship (competitive awards, $1,000 Kopp scholarships in recent cycles), conference registration scholarships, and a student poster competition with cash prizes to foster early-career research and professional development.
Active member services and governance
Maintains ongoing member services (membership tiers, CEU offerings, committees and SIGs), award programs, and updated bylaws and committee charters to support professional development, equity, and student involvement across Texas.
