About HUMANE TOMORROW

Humane Tomorrow is a volunteer-based 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization founded in 1997 that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes dogs and cats in Flower Mound and surrounding North Texas communities. The organization operates through a network of foster homes, adoption events, community education programs, and targeted assistance funds rather than as a traditional full-time boarding shelter. In recent years Humane Tomorrow has expanded programmatic capacity and public outreach: it opened the Glenn & Shirley Hulcher Family Animal Care Center (grand opening in 2020) to support intake, education, and emergency sheltering; continues low-cost spay/neuter and keep-at-home assistance programs; and remains active in community events (including Fido Fest) and legislative advocacy on animal welfare issues through 2024–2026 activity and media coverage.

Notable achievements

Founded and long‑term placement impact

Established in 1997, Humane Tomorrow has operated as an all‑volunteer rescue for over two decades and has placed thousands of animals in permanent homes through its foster‑based adoption model.

Glenn & Shirley Hulcher Family Animal Care Center

Opened with major philanthropic support (Hulcher family) and celebrated a grand opening in 2020; the center functions as an intake, adoption, education, and emergency sheltering hub that expanded the organization's capacity for community programming and large‑scale responses.

Programs that reduce shelter intake

Operates several ongoing programs — including a low‑cost spay/neuter (Catalyst) program, the Flower’s Fund to prevent economic euthanasia, and the Love on Wheels relocation partnership — that together reduce shelter intake and increase lifesaving placements by providing medical assistance, transport, and temporary fostering.
