About Guardianship Services, Inc.

Guardianship Services, Inc. (GSI) is a Fort Worth, Texas nonprofit established in 1985 that serves as a guardian of last resort and provides money management, financial exploitation prevention, benefits enrollment, and related supports to aging and at‑risk adults in Tarrant County. GSI’s staff includes Texas‑certified guardians, case managers, and educators who work with probate courts, Adult Protective Services, the Tarrant County District Attorney, and local partners to protect the autonomy, finances, and safety of people living with cognitive, physical, or developmental challenges. In recent years GSI has scaled outreach and prevention programs, expanded partnerships, and published annual reports documenting measurable growth in program reach and financial protections for clients.

Notable achievements

Financial Exploitation Prevention Center expansion

GSI’s Financial Exploitation Prevention Center grew substantially, reaching more than 1,600 adults in the 2023–24 period and reporting program reach in the 2025 report of approximately 2,751 individuals through outreach, workshops, partner referrals, and coordinated prevention efforts.

Money management protections

GSI’s Money Management programs served hundreds of clients (235 reported in 2023–24) and documented protection of more than $3 million from misuse through representative payee and bill‑pay services that help clients maintain housing, benefits, and daily living.

40th anniversary and program growth

In its 40th anniversary year GSI reported expanded community collaborations, increased education/outreach on financial exploitation, and investments in capacity to serve more at‑risk adults across Tarrant County.
