About ECHO THEATRE

Echo Theatre is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit theatre company founded in 1998 that focuses exclusively on producing plays written by women+ and on advancing gender parity in the theatrical canon. The company produces a regular season of mainstage productions, a free staged-reading series (Echo Reads), and the Echo Offstage podcast; its primary performance home is the Bath House Cultural Center at White Rock Lake. In the last 2–3 years Echo Theatre has remained active with commissioned premieres and mainstage runs (including a 2024 premiere), continued its Big Shout Out new-play contest for women+ playwrights, and completed leadership transitions that strengthened its producing and outreach capacity.
