About DALLAS INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY

Dallas International University (DIU) is a Christ‑centered, regionally accredited university in southwest Dallas that prepares leaders for cross‑cultural work in language development, Bible translation, literacy, world arts, and international studies. Founded in 1972 (formerly the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics), DIU offers programs from the associate to doctoral levels and emphasizes field‑informed instruction, intercultural partnership, and spiritual formation.

DIU maintains an active global footprint: faculty and alumni serve widely across the world, and the university operates both residential and expanded distance/hybrid offerings to reach students and partner communities internationally. In recent years DIU has launched new programs and partnerships aimed at increasing local capacity for language and Scripture engagement in multiple regions.

Notable achievements

New academic programs (2025–2026)

DIU launched several new offerings including a Graduate Certificate in Bible Translation and multiple new undergraduate and graduate programs in 2025–2026 to broaden professional pathways in linguistics, Bible translation, arts, and trauma healing and to expand hybrid/distance options for international students.

Expanded international partnerships

DIU formalized and expanded partnerships with international organizations to strengthen Bible translation and language development capacity (including Portuguese‑speaking regions), increasing DIU’s direct engagement and training opportunities in partner countries.

Ongoing institutional development & strategic planning

DIU advanced its Global Launch strategic plan and published a President’s Report (2025) summarizing institutional milestones, program growth, and expanding off‑campus instructional sites aimed at increasing institutional reach and sustainability.
