About THE THANKS-GIVING FOUNDATION

The Thanks‑Giving Foundation is the owner and operator of Thanks‑Giving Square, a downtown Dallas public garden, chapel, and event venue established by local civic leaders in 1964. The foundation’s work centers on promoting gratitude, virtue, and goodwill through public programming, interfaith and civic events, cultural initiatives, and stewardship of its landmark grounds. The Foundation runs recurring signature programs — including National Day of Prayer events, Kindness Week, Interfaith Thanks‑Giving, and Tuba Christmas — and produces community-focused initiatives such as The Good City Report and the Good City Stories project. In recent years the organization has pursued an expanded civic role, proposing a downtown “Thanks‑Giving District” and continuing venue operations and public programming under the leadership of President & CEO Kyle Ogden. Financially the Foundation has operated with modest annual revenues and maintained net assets; its most recent public filings show revenue and operating activity through 2024 while the organization continued to host public events, rent event space, and engage in community convening and outreach.
