MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN RAILROAD
Founded in 1962, the Museum of the American Railroad is a not-for-profit Texas corporation dedicated to celebrating the heritage and exploring the future of railroads through historic preservation, research, and educational programming; it collects artifacts and archival material from the railroad industry to exhibit and interpret their significance in American life and culture.
About MUSEUM OF THE AMERICAN RAILROAD
The Museum of the American Railroad is a long-established 501(c)(3) railroad museum that preserves and interprets full-size locomotives, rolling stock, archival material and model-railroad exhibits for public education and enjoyment. The organization operates TrainTopia, a large indoor G‑scale model-railroad exhibit, and offers guided walking tours of its rolling-stock collection and year-round educational programming for schools and the public.
After closing its long-time Fair Park site, the museum relocated its collections and operations to a multi-acre site in Frisco, Texas; it maintains daily public operations through TrainTopia at the Frisco Discovery Center while phased construction and site build-out continue at the new Frisco campus. In recent years the museum has completed major track and construction phases, expanded school field-trip programming, and secured competitive grants to support education and depot restoration.
