About THE SUNSHINE KIDS FOUNDATION

The Sunshine Kids Foundation is a national nonprofit (founded 1982) that provides free, year-round programs, national trips, local family activities, and in-hospital events for children diagnosed with cancer. Programs are designed to promote self-esteem, peer connection, and age-appropriate fun while patients are in treatment. In the past 2–3 years the foundation has continued its core national trip series (including week-long regional trips and teen getaways), expanded inpatient/hospital-based programming and satellite outreach to reach more children during treatment, and maintained audited financials and publicly posted Form 990s on its website. The organization operates donor-facing programs across North America and reports ongoing grant support and program activity to sustain its trips and hospital events.
