About NORTH EAST FORT BEND COUNTY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT
North East Fort Bend County Volunteer Fire Department is a community-based, donor-facing 501(c)(3) fire and emergency services organization established in 1972. The department operates as a combination volunteer/career fire department delivering fire suppression, EMS first-response, technical rescue, dive operations, and hazardous-material response to unincorporated areas of northeast Fort Bend County. The department staffs multiple stations on a 24/7 basis (two stations with a planned third station), operates a roster of career and volunteer personnel with approximately 60 employees and 16 apparatus, and serves an official service area of roughly 20 square miles and about 56,000 residents. In recent years the organization has expanded specialized capabilities (notably a dive team brought into service in late 2020) and participated in county equipment-use agreements and a 2024 groundbreaking for a new station to improve regional response capacity.
