About INPRINT INC

Inprint is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) literary arts nonprofit that presents authors, workshops, and educational programs to inspire readers and writers. By fostering the art of creative writing, Inprint produces public reading series, youth programs, and writing workshops while supporting emerging writers at local universities. Inprint’s core programs include the long-running Inprint Margarett Root Brown Reading Series (a national-level author series), the Inprint Cool Brains! Reading Series for middle-grade readers, tuition-free Teachers-as-Writers workshops, community workshops (senior, incarcerated, life-writing), and writers’ workshops taught by local and UH Creative Writing Program faculty and students. The organization partners closely with the University of Houston Creative Writing Program and other local institutions. In the last 2–3 years Inprint has continued in-person and online programming (including the 2024/25 reading season and online rebroadcasts), sustained fellowship and prize support for emerging writers, and maintained broad community reach—serving more than 15,000 readers and writers annually and distributing free books and school bus scholarships through youth programming.
