About CLAYTON LIBRARY FRIENDS INC

Clayton Library Friends, Inc. is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization (founded 1987) that raises funds and provides volunteer support to enhance the Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus of the Houston Public Library. The group organizes memberships, book sales, educational programs, and acquisitions to expand genealogical and local-history holdings available to researchers. In the last 2–3 years the organization has maintained up-to-date governance and financial oversight (revised bylaws in 2023, an audit completed in 2022, and an IRS Form 990 filed for 2023) and continues to publish a members' newsletter, sponsor research-oriented programs, and fund acquisitions listed on its Acquisitions page. Clayton Library Friends partners with the Clayton Library Campus and local genealogical societies to support public access to family-history resources and to coordinate volunteer activities and fundraising events.
