To provide support, education and service advocacy for families and individuals affected by mental illness. Eliminating the stigma of mental illness is the primary goal for NAMI Gulf Coast.
About NAMI Gulf Coast
NAMI Gulf Coast is a local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness serving Galveston and Brazoria counties in the Houston/Gulf Coast region. The organization delivers peer-led support groups, a staffed HelpLine, and evidence-based education programs for individuals living with mental illness and their families. Over the last several years NAMI Gulf Coast has maintained a full calendar of virtual and in-person support groups and trainings (including Family-to-Family, NAMI Basics, Peer-to-Peer and NAMI Connection) and has participated in local coalitions and awareness efforts. The affiliate publishes an end-of-year report summarizing annual accomplishments and continues to operate as an active, donor-facing nonprofit with ongoing community partnerships and funding support.

Sustained peer-led program delivery
Continued provision of core NAMI programs (Family-to-Family, NAMI Basics, Peer-to-Peer, NAMI Connection) and regular support groups delivered both online and in-person to residents of Galveston and Brazoria counties.
Active community outreach and events
Maintained an active events calendar (workshops, webinars, awareness weeks and coalition participation) and published an end-of-year report documenting local activities and impact for 2025.
