About SMALL STEPS NURTURING CENTER
Small Steps Nurturing Center is a Houston-based nonprofit that operates two tuition-free preschools serving economically at-risk children ages two through five in the Fifth Ward and Gulfton/Sharpstown neighborhoods. The organization delivers a high-quality, faith-informed early childhood program that includes classroom instruction, social-emotional supports, transportation, nutritious meals, parent education, and community partnerships. Small Steps emphasizes measurable outcomes and continuous improvement: it has partnered with academic evaluators, uses validated assessment tools, and recently expanded classroom capacity to reach more children while maintaining an accredited early-childhood program.

Documented student gains and improved assessment practice
