ALIEF MONTESSORI COMMUNITY SCHOOL

Alief Montessori Community School (AMCS) is a Texas public charter school and 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving children in the Alief/Houston area with an authentic Montessori program for ages approximately 3–14 (PreK–3 through 8th grade). The school traces its origins to a private Montessori program founded in 1981 and converted to a public charter nonprofit in 1998, emphasizing multi-age classrooms, prepared environments, and long-term teacher–student relationships. In the last 2–3 years AMCS has continued to operate as an accredited Texas public charter campus and has reported sustained student-performance distinctions while maintaining a solid financial position; its recent annual financial and IRS filings show multi-year revenue in the $4–5 million range and net assets in the mid-teens of millions (most recently reported for fiscal years ending 2023–2025). The school maintains Montessori affiliations and accreditations and reports active program growth including an adolescent (middle school) program launched in recent years to extend Montessori education through age 14.
