CENTER FOR AFRICAN AMERICAN MILITARY HISTORY INC

The Center for African American Military History, Inc. (EIN 76-0658661), doing business as the Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) museum dedicated to preserving and interpreting the history and contributions of African Americans in the U.S. military. The organization operates exhibitions, educational programs, community events, and archival collections focused on Buffalo Soldiers and broader African American military service. In recent years BSNM has undertaken a major capital renovation (the Ready & Forward campaign) to repair and expand its historic Armory facility; the museum is temporarily closed for renovations with a planned reopening in 2026. BSNM continues to deliver virtual and community programming, host traveling and in-house exhibitions, and partner with schools and cultural funders while completing its capital improvements.
