About WILLOW WATERHOLE GREENSPACE CONSERVANCY INC
Willow Waterhole Greenspace Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that stewards the nearly 300-acre Willow Waterhole Greenway in southwest Houston, a landscape of lakes, prairie, marsh, islands, native plants, wildlife and public trails. The Conservancy manages habitat restoration, public programming, and operations that support flood detention and community recreation. The organization works in close partnership with civic groups, conservation organizations, and government agencies to maintain and expand public access, native prairie and wetland habitat, and nature-based flood mitigation. Willow Waterhole operates volunteer programs, educational events, and ongoing habitat projects to connect residents with the landscape. In the last 2–3 years the Conservancy has increased organizational transparency (audited financial statements and public Form 990 filings through 2023), earned a 2024 Gold Seal of Transparency from Candid/GuideStar, secured a sustainability grant to electrify its maintenance fleet (enabling emissions-free operations), and appointed new leadership to guide continued restoration and public programming.
