HAND IN HAND PARENTING

Hand in Hand Parenting is a San Francisco‑based 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 77-0234719) founded in 1989 that teaches practical, trauma‑responsive caregiving tools and provides peer‑mentoring, instructor certification, and community supports for parents, early educators, and healthcare professionals. Its model centers on five concrete caregiving and listening tools that help adults understand and respond to the emotions underlying children’s behavior, strengthen caregiver–child relationships, and reduce conflict.

The organization operates internationally through online and in‑person offerings, certified instructors, and partnerships with schools and community programs. In the last 2–3 years Hand in Hand has expanded professional partnerships and research activity, trained hundreds of certified instructors, delivered tens of thousands of hours of direct support, and reported annual reach in the mid‑teens of thousands of parents, educators, and caregivers served per year.
