ZOHAR DANCE COMPANY

Zohar Dance Company (also known as Zohar School of Dance) is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) dance school and presenting organization based in Palo Alto, California. Founded in 1979 by Ehud Krauss, Zohar offers ongoing adult and community classes, intensives, and artist residency/performance opportunities. Under the artistic direction of Daynee Lai-Krauss (and leadership including Vivian Sam), Zohar operates a studio theatre and the Zohar Performance Series, presenting regional choreographers and companies and providing a local venue for emerging and established artists. The organization has a documented history of community outreach—most notably the IndepenDANCE program that expanded dance access in East Palo Alto schools—and continues to offer classes, workshops and seasonal performance programming. Recent tax filings and organizational materials indicate Zohar remains an active, donor-facing nonprofit that finances programming through a mix of program revenue and contributed support and that it continued presenting performances, intensives and community programs in the 2023–2026 period.
