To provide a healthy, development-focused experience where student athletes can learn, train, and compete in the sport of rowing while gaining the physical, mental, and teamwork benefits of the sport.
About Mile High Rowing Colorado
Mile High Rowing Colorado (MHRC) is a year-round youth rowing organization that operates programs at Cherry Creek Reservoir and Boulder Reservoir to serve junior rowers across the Denver–Boulder region. The organization offers on-water and off-water training, beginner learn-to-row sessions, and competitive seasons aimed at regional and national regattas.
Founded from the Mile High Rowing Club (est. 2009) and Colorado Junior Crew (est. 2006), the two programs formally combined in July 2024 to form Mile High Rowing Colorado in order to expand opportunities and consolidate coaching and resources for Colorado youth rowers.
Notable achievements
Consistent Nationals qualification
MHRC (and its predecessor Mile High Rowing Club) has qualified boats for the US Rowing Youth National Championships every year since the program's founding, maintaining a long record of national-level competition.
Organizational merger (2024)
In July 2024 Mile High Rowing Club and Colorado Junior Crew combined operations to form Mile High Rowing Colorado, unifying coaching, facilities, and programming across Cherry Creek and Boulder reservoirs to increase capacity and opportunity for athletes statewide.
Alumni & elite athlete progression
The program has produced more than 100 alumni who continued rowing at 60+ collegiate club and varsity programs and counts an Olympian among its alumni, demonstrating clear athlete development and college placement outcomes.
