About THE GRATEFUL GARMENT PROJECT
The Grateful Garment Project (TGGP) is a San Jose–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011 that supplies new clothing, hygiene items, comfort packs and other resources to survivors of sexual violence so they can leave medical facilities, shelters or court appearances with dignity. Founded as a university capstone project by Lisa J. Blanchard, TGGP operates several programs — including resource closets for Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) facilities, Pack‑It Forward portable packs for trafficking survivors, Beyond the Closet deliveries to shelters, and Operation Esteem, an initiative that provides small gift‑card incentives to help youth attend follow‑up care. Statewide partner network and program expansion

Programmatic innovation for youth and trafficking survivors
Launched Operation Esteem to incentivize youth (ages 12–24) to attend follow‑up medical and therapeutic appointments and implemented Pack‑It Forward portable packs tailored for human trafficking and commercially sexually exploited children.
