About Casa de Paz
Casa de Paz (House of Peace) is a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides free, short-term hospitality and essential services to people released from immigration detention and to families visiting detained loved ones. The organization began in 2012 as a one-bedroom hospitality effort and has grown into a volunteer-driven program offering shelter, meals, transportation and basic supplies.
Recognized as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization since 2016, Casa de Paz operates a volunteer Welcome Team, visitation and letter-writing programs, and resource navigation to help guests reunite with family or reach their next destination. In recent years (2022–2024) the organization scaled operations financially and programmatically, reporting annual revenues in the mid-six-figure range and continuing to serve thousands of guests annually.
