About Julia's Center for Healthcare (Julias Center)

Julia's Center for Healthcare (branded Julias Center) is an all-volunteer, donor-facing 501(c)(3) clinic in Plano, Texas that provides no-cost, non-emergency chronic medical care and health education to uninsured and underserved adult residents of Collin County. The clinic operates by appointment in the evenings and offers primary chronic care, a diabetes clinic, women’s health services (including pap smears), an optometry clinic, and a network of specialty referrals.

Founded in 2016 and operating from a community clinic space in Plano, the organization relies on volunteer medical providers, nurses, translators and administrative volunteers and extensive partnerships with local hospitals and charitable partners. In 2024 the clinic expanded into a larger suite to increase capacity and formalized growth in volunteer providers and patient volume.

Notable achievements

Clinic expansion and relocation (2024)

Relocated to a larger suite in September 2024 after volunteer-led renovations, increasing exam capacity and enabling the recruitment of additional medical providers to serve more patients.

Patient volume growth (2023–2024)

Significant service growth year-over-year: the clinic recorded 1,487 patient visits in 2024 (442 unique patients, 168 new patients), up from 1,057 visits in 2023, reflecting expanded capacity and outreach.

Diabetes care pilot with measurable outcomes

A pilot diabetes program (supported by a charitable initiative) delivered comprehensive diabetes education and care with documented patient improvements — including reduced A1C levels, blood pressure improvements, weight loss and fewer reported emergency-room visits among participants.
