About 442ND LEGACY CENTER

442ND LEGACY CENTER is a Honolulu-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit formed as the successor to the 442nd Veterans Club to preserve and present the history of the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 100th Infantry Battalion, and related units. The organization maintains archival collections, artifacts, oral histories and a small museum program and operates from a building it owns in Honolulu. The Center operates as an educational and research resource for schools, scholars, veterans and visiting members of the public; rental income from residential units in the building partially subsidizes operations. The organization's EIN (81-2642707) has been confirmed in its public filings and tax returns, and it has active nonprofit filings and grant activity with the State of Hawaii related to renovation and archival improvements. In recent years the Center has begun a phased renovation to convert and upgrade the 442nd Veterans Clubhouse into a dedicated 442nd Legacy Center with improved archival storage, climate and fire protection, and exhibit space to better preserve and display the unit’s collections for future generations.
