About LITTLE THINGS MATTER

Little Things Matter (Little Things Matter Foundation) is a Dallas-based 501(c)(3) that was founded in 2016 and focuses on small, project-driven investments that improve education, nutrition, livelihoods, and community well-being in underserved Hispanic and Latino communities. The organization operates both locally (Dallas-area partnerships such as Bachman Lake Together) and internationally through sustained partnerships in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico (including Ojalá Niños, Jóvenes Adelante, and Mariposas Mexico). It received U.S. tax-exempt recognition in 2020 and maintains public annual reports and a program-focused web presence. In the last 2–3 years Little Things Matter has expanded programmatic work and capacity-building efforts, including the formation of a sister non-profit in Mexico to deepen local impact and several named projects (scholarships, learning gardens, small-scale agricultural initiatives and women’s artisan cooperatives).

Notable achievements

Sister organization launched (Las Pequeñas Cosas Importan)

In March 2024 the foundation announced the creation of Las Pequeñas Cosas Importan, a Mexico-chartered sister organization to expand on-the-ground capacity and to manage local programs in the Otomí community of San Miguel Viejo.

Barry’s Learning Garden & agroecology projects

Developed Barry’s Learning Garden and supported organic garden and chicken-farming projects that serve as living classrooms for children (ages 3–12), teaching nutrition, sustainability and generating food and modest income for participating families.

Scholarships and technology support for students

Partnered with Jóvenes Adelante and Mariposas Mexico to provide college scholarships and laptop/technology kits to first-generation and marginalized students, improving access to higher education and digital learning.
