Food For Thought Denver strives to eliminate weekend hunger for children in the Denver metro area by providing PowerSacks of non‑perishable food so students return to school nourished and ready to learn.
About Food For Thought Denver
Founded in 2012, Food For Thought Denver is a volunteer‑run 501(c)(3) organization that provides weekly PowerSacks — each containing 10–15 non‑perishable items — to students at Title I schools to close the weekend hunger gap.
The program currently serves approximately 26,000 children across 75 schools and operates without paid staff; board members and volunteers cover administrative costs so 100% of public donations go to food and program needs.
Food For Thought partners with local food banks, school districts and corporate and civic volunteer teams to pack and distribute bags every Friday during the school year and to operate discreet school pantries at select high schools.
