About CECIL FIELD POW-MIA MEMORIAL INC
Cecil Field POW/MIA Memorial, Inc. is a Jacksonville, Florida–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2016 to develop the National POW/MIA Memorial & Museum on a 26‑acre site at the former Naval Air Station Cecil Field (Cecil Commerce Center). The organization’s project combines an outdoor memorial, aircraft displays, interpretive exhibits, and a museum building to honor prisoners of war and those missing in action and to serve as a destination for veterans, families, schools, and the public.
Since incorporation the nonprofit has progressed from planning into site development and public programming: it completed initial sitework and display pads for aircraft, has an on‑site building that opens to visitors on scheduled days, and has run a range of fundraising campaigns and donor programs to fund construction and exhibits. The organization holds state charitable registration and operates as a donor‑facing public charity, actively soliciting contributions and community partnerships to advance construction and programming.
In recent years the group has expanded its fundraising and visibility through grants, local partnerships, scheduled public openings of the museum building, and participation in Jacksonville veterans and city events. The organization continues phased construction and development while maintaining regular outreach and memorial programming for veterans and families of the missing.
