Cathedral District-Jax, Inc. is a Jacksonville-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit that leads long‑term neighborhood redevelopment in the 36-block Cathedral District (Cathedral Hill) anchored by five historic churches. The organization develops and advances a coordinated master plan to bring workforce and mixed‑income housing, streetscape and public‑space improvements, community events, and partnerships with local institutions and developers. In recent years the nonprofit has moved from planning into implementation: it has published a master plan, secured philanthropic grants to support downtown repopulation, and advanced partnerships with affordable housing developers and city agencies to develop mixed‑income apartment communities. Adopted Master Development Plan

Led creation and public release of a comprehensive master plan for the 36‑block Cathedral District that sets housing, mobility, public‑space and implementation priorities for downtown revitalization.

Launched first mixed‑income housing efforts

Moved from planning to implementation by advancing initial mixed‑income housing projects for the District, including development activity referenced as the first project of roughly 120 apartments and subsequent plans for an 85‑unit mixed‑income community through a developer partnership.
