About NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANT ADVANCEMENT, INC.
NIMAA is a national nonprofit educational institute (501(c)(3)) founded in 2016 by Community Health Center, Inc. and Salud Family Health Centers to expand access to high-quality medical assistant training for students from medically underserved communities.
The school offers an accredited, competency-based blended program (online instruction plus day‑one hands-on externships) that prepares graduates for entry-level medical assistant roles and includes articulation pathways with community colleges.
In the last 2–3 years NIMAA has expanded state approvals and partnerships and secured grant funding to provide scholarships and technology supports for students (notably grant awards and state licensure/registration actions in 2024–2025).
